Kazakh Invest and Turkish company BioTRend Energy signed the Memorandum of Understanding On December 14 in Astana, Saparbek Tuyakbayev, the Board Chairman of NC Kazakh Invest, met with Murat Aslan, the head of BioTRend Energy. During the meeting, the participants signed Memorandum of Understanding on construction of a waste recycling facility in Kazakhstan. In the Turkestan region, BioTrend intends to implement a project on the construction of a waste recycling facility for processing agricultural waste (in particular, cotton) with electric and thermal energy generation. Thus, the company announced its intention to process over 340,000 tons of waste a year with the production up to 40 MW an hour. The investment amount for the implementation of this project may reach $100 million USD. For the successful implementation of the project, Kazakh Invest is currently selecting a region and partners among local companies. At the present moment, company identified three large cotton growing areas in Turkestan (about 110 thousand hectares). The meetings with the representatives of local executive bodies were also arranged.
